Props and Costumes

  • Most of the props in this music video will be instruments such as a guitar, drums, etc.
  • Another prop in this music video will be a telephone
  • No specific costumes for this music video. Mostly just normal everyday clothing

Locations

  • Most of the commercial will be filmed inside my mother’s house
  • The kitchen and dining room will be the main spots for filming
  • However, these locations are not final, locations can be added or removed once filming starts
  • No outside filming for this music video

Backup Plan

  • I can’t see any issues with filming at my mother’s house, but if it doesn’t work out then I can either film my music video at my father’s house or a friend’s house

Group Blog: Music Video

For this music video project, I have once again decided to work alone. Working alone for my last project went well for me. While there were a few challenges, I think I was able to move past these challenges relatively easily. I think my last project taught me a lot of things about working alone. I now know how to overcome the obstacles of working alone.

My reasons for wanting to work alone are the same as my reasons for wanting to work alone on the commercial project. In general, I think working by myself is just more effective than working with a group. I've always found that I get more work done when I am alone rather than in a group. Working in a group can be chaotic and disorganized, and could result in incomplete work and a bad grade. I would rather not risk that. Additionally, I still do not really know anybody in my class. Finding groupmates would be difficult.

The song I chose for my music video project is "10:15 Saturday Night" by The Cure. This is one of my favorite songs. A friend of mine first introduced me to this song, and I have loved it ever since. I feel like this song would lend itself very well to being a music video. The lyrics are very descriptive, and just listening to them my brain starts to come up with several ideas for things I could do in my music video. I think by using this song, I will have a lot of potential ways to do my music videos. I already have a few good ideas in mind. Overall, I think my choice of song will be good for this project.

Intro Blog: Music Video

Hello. My name is Aiden Hurst. I am sixteen years old right now. I just turned sixteen in November. I go to school at Fort Lauderdale High School and I am a sophomore. I've been at Fort Lauderdale High School since freshman year. I was born in Florida and have lived here for my entire life.

The reason I took this class is because I thought it looked interesting. Ever since I was a child, I always loved movies. I remember watching movies with my grandpa and dad all the time. I enjoyed them a lot. I still watch a lot of movies and I am very interested in how they're made. The process of film production looks very interesting to me. It looks complex but also fun. I am excited to learn about that process in this class. Hopefully I can put the concepts and skills learned in this class to use if I ever decide to go into the field of filmmaking as a career. Although I am not planning on going into the field of filmmaking for a career, I still think it is an interesting thing to learn about and do. All in all, I am very excited for the things I will learn in this class.

The project I'll be doing this time is a music video. I am excited for this project, as I think it will be very interesting and challenging.

Planning Blog: Title Design

The opening credits of my film will be in the Goudy Old Style font. I really like the way this font looks, and think it fits my film well. ...
